This year, you might (I definitely will not) see Veena Malik, Dr Aamir Liaqat and Maya Khan on different channels teaching you about the virtues of Ramzan and teachings of Islam.
I do not mind any of that, for they might be much better human beings than me and thus much better muslims. Maybe I misunderstood these great role models. But this “choice” of hosts has left me wondering about the people of Pakistan and their mindset.
We all saw Aamir Liaqat’s leaked video and then his pathetic explanation, I have seen his videos dissing Abu Bakr r.a in shia gatherings and praising Umer r.a in sunni gatherings. He might not be an ass-hole but he sure as hell acts like one. Yet he is back on Geo due to commercial reasons.
I totally understand Geo’s decision for they need viewership and lets not kid ourselves, there are much bigger assholes on Geo than the petty Aamir Liaqat.
But the people, the Pakistani people that like Aamir Liaqat, they worry me. The senseless pieces of shit that follow this stupid ass clown, they worry me a lot. (via meahkh, Read Complete article)
my add: Really wanted to write about it since yesterday, but just couldn’t wrap my head around most of the things with all the madness going on at work. I should probably write about it soon but until then enjoy this interesting article by Mehtab.
