12:39 am // Lack of decency or just common sense?
One of these days someone will need to explain me why would you play a song at a wedding whose lyrics goes like: “don’t touch me, don’t touch me, I have turned adult now, *ahhhhhh*” (sexual innuendo intended - song) Like seriously, are you people just dumb to play that with young children around or with that brother and sister dancing to that song you are just completely...

– From memos of veteran US diplomat and translator Vernon Walters regarding Pakistani Dictator General Zia-ul-Haq. Gives my view further confirmation that even after having the worst politicians and dictators in last 60 odd years, only thing they have shown sincerity to is somehow the Pakistani...

9:40 pm // And an extra share
Whenever I am travelling to or from Pakistan and my flight is over Iraq and Saudi Arabia, I always make a pledge that I will get to Dubai and drive all the way to Makkah and do Umrah. But unfortunately I haven’t been able to do that yet. I need to make a solid plan for this thing when I get back, better in winter time. Last year I was so close to being able to do that but at the last moment...

9:20 pm // Batteries out
Both of my phones are running extremely low on battery, and very smart of me I didn’t put the chargers in my carrying bag. So unfortunately a lot of interesting pictures to be uploaded later from my camera. Should be in Lahore in next 4-5 hours.

3:22 pm // glad that I didn't move to Turkey
And no nothing in negative way - things are pretty here! :) Paid 20$ and got my 30 day visa in 10-15 minutes but will be staying back to give company to my friend and colleague who didn’t get his visa done. Probably will roam a wee bit around Istanbul on way back from Northern Cyprus. I still desperately need a bed!

8:50 pm // Plane crash in Rawalpindi and other...
Unfortunately a local airliner crashed near Rawalpindi just minutes before landing. All aboard are feared dead with many on the ground as it crashed near a rural area. Had to struggle get in touch with cousins who live near the Airport area - but glad they all are alright. A real tragic event, and my prayers are with those who have lost their loved ones in this crash. There is a serious need for...

(EDITED SINCE IT IS PART OF OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE) Dear Mr Munir father of Mr Mushtaq, Pakistan though named Islamic Republic of Pakistan, it is still a democratic country. Constitution of Pakistan does not allow for forcing anything on anyone, including a dress code on women of this country. However in University we still have a general dress code for all the students (male and female) which...

11:16 pm // A quick recap of the day
I find it really annoying if someone pisses me off before 11 am on a workday! There should be some decency there people. Came back home after work and gym. Realised that I was having a craving for ice cream yesterday, so took the tub of that mango ice cream out of my freezer and had it while watching House (had to). There was a thunderstorm outside, so tried to take some pictures. Interesting...

Really feel like writing something again, but I am kind of stuck whether I should write about Bhuttoism or the lack of having no Centrist approach in Pakistani political and social mindset?! Oh yes! the kind of “insightful” articles I read from “noobs” who think they are some sort of “experts” on Pakistan and India is just too painful. They need to stop using...

1:16 pm // A week long hiatus and what Pakistan...
Apologies for a week long hiatus from regular micro-blogging, I was showing off Pakistan. Things I have been able to share and probably even learn myself: Pakistanis stare at you if you do not look South-Asian enough. Tourist places will try to rip you off. Souvenir shops often do not have a tag on their merchandise because they want to slap you one accordingly. Women once in Pakistan get a...
